G'day guys,

Scoured the site looking for this info but couldn't seem to find it.

Looking at putting a new set of wheels on my 1200 UTE. Have always loved the look of decent dished wheels on stretched tires, staggered with a little camber. Have also always dreamt of having a set of Hayashi Street Fins.

I have found 2 pairs. First pair is 14x7 -6 which I'm thinking for the front with something like a 175/60R14 tyre. With modest flares of about 1", do you think I'll have any issues?

Second pair is 14x8 -20 with a 195/60R14 for the rear.

Am I going to have an issues with this?

Cheers, Joe.

there's a Wheel Database thread stickied at the top of the Main Forum for exactly this reason. All it needs is more people to spend 5 minutes submitting their setups. http://datsun1200.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=58765&forum=1

ddgonzal has got his ute wheel specs on there which will help you.

Hey mate,

Thanks for that but I have read it and it doesn't help me with my question completely. I'm not really concerned with diameter or width but for the offset combination.

Cheers, Joe.

This offset combination?
* Front: 14x7 -6
* Rear: 14x8 -20

The wheels will be uneven. there is a 1" wheel-width difference half of which is 13.7 mm yet the offset difference is -14 mm. So the rears will stick farther out the sides than the fronts, more than an inch difference if i'm thinking clearly.

Stagger refers to differing tyre diameters, so it will have a slight amount of stagger (175s vs 195s).

stagger can refer to either larger rear diameter or larger rear width than the front. Most commonly about widths though.

ruredi, ddgonzal's setup on that thread has the same wheel widths and tyre sizes as you intend to use, but with 0 offsets. So take what he said about the fitments (and the pics) and factor in that your offsets are 6mm further out on the front and 20mm further out rear...

im running 13x7 -7 and 13x8 +3 on my ute and had to do a small lip, flare and roll on the front and they fit nicely now, the rears sit fine with no body mod so i would be same in saying that the rears in that size will sit about an inch out from the body so yeah might be a bit further out then the fronts.

Also im running 165/65 fronts and 185/55 rears and they have a nice bit of stretch on them

For 8s on the back you want a maximum of +-0 offset but +10 would be spot on and 185 55s is the absolute maximum I would go, 175 50 semi slick would be perfect and 165 55 would look spot on.

Fronts +-0 is also nice with 120Y/1200 struts, 165 55s sit ok but if you want stretch you'll have to run. 155 55.

Unles you run flares that is.......

You will need to roll the guards tho and get your rear end setup so it doesn't chew tyres when you go over bumps.

Hope that helps.
