I'd luv one too, but bit expensive from Nissan and quite a bit of work to to remove and install a new one.

Was hoping one day someone like Wayne from Metal Fab could make something up that matches the ribs and could be installed like a large patch panel or perhaps glued over the top of a rough floor....Anyone out there with the skills/machinery to do this???

Dodgy as fix to glue something over the top :/
$900 is a reasonable price as it fits straight in, you'd be looking at around that for a custom floor, that could possible be 2-3x heavier.
My floor is a bit dinged up, but once painted black it blends in more, and i am going to be using it as a ute so it doesn't make sense to buy a brand new floor when its going to be dinged up almost straight away.

My 2c anyway.

I have the skills and the machinery but I'm in need of something to copy.

I knew you had the skills...but thought the panel may have been a bit to large for you to produce.

If only you could get your hands on a sample. Even if you could reproduce the ribs just like a piece of corrugated iron, without worrying about the rounded ends so it could be used to replace the main section would be handy for a lot of us...just a thought!

Crab...I know glueing over the top is dodgy and would probably end up trapping moisture between the layers. But there are some pretty fancy panel glues out there now and this would make it possible for those that can't weld to get a decent result without having to pay a panel beater.

If it had to come down to this, I'd be using a grinder to remove the tray and leaving a 30mm strip around the edge and use sika-flex to adhere the new panel to the 30mm strip + the 3 horizontal support bars.

No gap for moisture to build and still structurally sound as sika-flex is awesome to use.

The tray/bed is a structural part of the chassis. Isn't it supposed to be welded around the perimeter?

all i need is a small section of floor to copy, I could then make patch pieces about 300mm square or what ever someone needs,
I would need a section that has 2 ribs in it, it wouldn't matter what condition it was in as long as there is enough information to copy the ribs correctly.
If any ones got something I will happily pay postage for it.

Yeah but he said he didn't want to send it off to a panel beater if he can help it.
I thought my suggestion was the best for keeping structural integrity without a dodgy glue over job haha.
