Hey guys,

I have a few questions all related to rego/compiance for the 2dr 1200 I just bought.
Looking at the rego papers the number I have for the engine number seems weird, it is only 5 digits long with no letters in it just numbers. Is that normal? (i dont have orig eng handy from 2dr to look at) My 1200 ute is 10 digits starting with AL ending in D
Could you guys have a look at yours?

Also down the bottom of my rego paper under the rates I have:
CONDITIONS 301: Imported Vehicle - Exempt from the Australian Design Rules and from the fitment of compliance plate.
Anyone seen this before? (sure enough I have no compliance plate)

Rear seat belts, it appears I have none and no mounts or sign they ever existed here... Being a 1970 imported 2 dr does that sound normal? Is there anyway to verify it never had or doesnt require rear seat belts?

thanks in advance

Look abit further left

All those details should be on your import paperwork anyway
And its not subject to ADR's anyway as there weren't any in 1970

69/ 70 rear seat belts optional as were compliance plates.
If it's a 70 model the number of the block will be low too.
As long as the numbers match block and papers minus the a12 all good.

i've seen 5 digit numbers before, not an issue, you seem to be stressing over nothing to me, should be all good. they may want to register as 2 seater if no seat belts in back, you may need to retrofit them, rare spares sell good kits for the mounting points

Its currently registered its all good in terms of that
Just after the info.
eg
Im pulled over would I get in trouble for no rear seat belts?
Does that engine number in anyway indicate what size it is? Eg a12 or a14?
(I know it has a12 or a14 stamped else where im referring specifically to the number)
Does that condition 301 let me get away with anything?

Condition 301 doesn't let you get away with anything. But it does exempt the car from ADR rules. Just show it to the officer if pulled over.
