I recently started fixing up a few things on the ute, I installed a new reverse switch as mine was not working since I got it, when I press the switch the reverse lights both work but when I install it in the 60a 5 spd gearbox it does not work, there are 2 swtiches available, one lights up when depressed on the switch and the other one when not depressed, tried either with no luck when screwed in. is there suppose to be a spacer of some sort or might something be broken inside ther gearbox. all help greatly appreciated

More than likely you are missing a steel ball about 8mm in diameter. This would go into the hole before the switch is installed. It would be a good idea to get an exploded view of the trans case, or see your local dealer.

early 56-series and late 56/60-series transmissions use different Reverse Lamp Switches
