What percentage is it out? 30km @ 100 kph? (30% error) or 30km @ 50 kph (60% error) ?

Next, is it 30% slow or 30% fast?

Then, find out which gear is in the gearbox. If it is the standard 17-tooth gear, add or subtract the percentage. 17+30%=21 tooth or 17-30%=12 tooth. Buy the right gear from Nissan. They come in 16,17,18 or 19 tooth versions. Anything else can use a ratio converter box from a speedometer shop or racing shop. Borrow a gps and drive at the different speed limits (using the gps speed) and write down what the datsun speedo is showing. Getting a different speedo drive to suit the wheels/tyres is whats needed. Using dots of 'white correction fluid' for 50,60,70,80,90,100,110 on the speedo glass is the ghetto way to fix it.
