Ricardo, the Chickenhawk (the car in my avatar, it can be seen better in the photo section) has a 300Z turbo hood scoop right above the carburetor with a dome type air filter. This is the way I would recommend. I suppose a piece of dryer hose could be run from one of those extra holes in the radiator support to a boxed air filter. That would work pretty well, I'd reckon.

Thats what i use to have set-up with the 32/36 Weber. A small aluminum box around the rectangular airfilter. Actually, half of the box was aluminum, the other half was made with a ventilation duct. The duct was a 4" to 3"x9" adapter. Small 90deg brackets and some pop rivets held it together. A 4" metal drier hose was routed to the radiator support. It looked a bit rough but the damn thing routed plenty of cold air to the carb. Water would condensate on the outside of the carb barrels.
All of these were hardware store items and probably no more than $15-$20.

Ok, so in a ram air system you force the air to enter in the engine by using its speed?

And what are the benefits?

Have you any photos?

I think the biggest benefit is the cold air. I've read that even a well designed ram air system will probably not pressurize your intake, even if you go real fast.

The temperature of the air can make a huge difference in my old gemini if you kept the switch ont he air filter on "Winter" when it was summer or if you were driving alot it would feel like the engine was being strangled. The winter switch just got hot air from inside the engine bar from above the exhaust so that it would run better cold.
I remember have to change backa couple of gears in order to make it up a slight hill.

I have been doing some hand calculations and i realized that even a 20 cm X 20 cm scoop in front of the car (at 100 Mph) will deliver 5 to 10 times the air demanded by the car engine. Some raise in the pressure must happen. I think that i am going to try this. The ideal thing to do will be to get a giant hood scoop. But i dont want to cut trough the car shell and so i have to design it carefully.

Do you suppose this is a ram-air box?
South Yokohama
It's a stainless steel box that mounts to the usual spot of a 1200 ute.

I translated the japanese on the web and it says, literaly:

"It is conventional technique, but how probably will be to sending fresh air to the cab? It is the aluminum make"

It must be a ram air system.

More things

Translation

Air intake guide & for square-hole

Price \7,800

Commodity cord/code DST 9523

Model Sunny track/truck square-hole

It is conventional technique, but how probably will be to sending fresh air to the cab? It is the aluminum make.

It is rough simplicity!

Note at time of order! As for square-hole vehicle private item/cooler equipped car failure. It is the for Thorex * way bar.
