HI

I ve just asked for this topic, but inform me if im right.

I ve just looking on ebay and stores and i cant find new tires 175/60 r12 for my Datsun Sedan 1973 B110.

So im pretending buy 14" or 13" wheels with 6", 175/60 tires for front and rear. According with some opinions i can buy 13" or 14" whells from 19 to 30 positive offset tires 175/60. So i can put them on my car with no problems. They will fit with any modifications? I m correct. and they will not rub with anything.

Please inform me because i dont have good tires to drive.

Many thanks

Miguel

Mini shops sell the 12" tires. See our Tires article in section "Where to buy 12" Tires".

the normal tyre size for a 1200 is 155SR12, which is 155/80 R12. 175/60 R12 is 1.5" smaller in diameter! 175/70 R13 is the right size, so maybe it was just a typo?

175/60 R13 is still half an inch smaller diameter than standard. 185/60 R13 is the same diameter as standard.
175/60 R14 is half an inch taller diameter than standard.

If it were me, I'd go taller rather than lower in tyre size. These things buzz along enough as it is. And the speedo works more accurately with a larger tyre. About 175/70 R13 or 185/60 R14 gets the speedo working right in my experience.

Get better acceleration with the shorter ones. And still corners better than stock since they are wider and lower profile. Lowers the car too.

Stock vs 165/55R12

It should handle better! But mainly because it's a semi slick soft compound competition tyre compared to a non-performance tyre, rather than because it's wider and lower.

These things rev too high on the highway already. And they drive just fine with a taller tyre.

Sure it lowers the car, but it also increases the gap from tyre to gaurd which is not a good look, and undersized tyres look all out of proportion.

Also, it's illegal over here to fit a tyre more than 26mm smaller in diameter. Other countries may have similar rules to consider.

Stock A12's get along fine with a taller tyre anyway. If I want mine to accellerate faster I give them bigger engines ;)
