Hi guys,
I'm looking at doing a 13btt rotary conversion on my datsun 120y coupe, i was wondering if anyone has attempted or completed this conversion and could give me some pointers on how to do it, and the amount of work required, and what i will also have to upgrade to get it to be legal to mod plate and road register in Australia.
Thanks

I have nearly finished my 13bt build.theres a fair bit to do.and long story short theres nothing you can do to make it legal.a single turbo 1200 is a no go let alone a twin turbo

120ys are not in the same class as 1200`s for engine conversions because of weight. Have to ask engineer about it.

Yeah I know that but they can't be too much heavier.wouldnt imagine 13b tt can be legal.would need the weight to be up around 1200ish kg I'd think

I highly doubt it would be allowed to be registered. when i got my engineering done I think for a turbocharged motor in a vehicle under 1100kgs, the cc's cant exceed 2.5 times the standard weight of the vehicle, with a 120y, that works out to be around 2100cc from memory, so sr and ca were ok. a 13B is only 1300cc but are calculated to be 2600cc, due to the capacitie they displace per revolution (or something along those lines, cant word it properly).
