Just wondering as recently I saw a few of these volov units on the back of their manual boxes and wondered if they could be adapted to our 4 speeds or even 3 speed auto boxes for that extra highway gear or doubling the ratios of a standard boc

Laycock overdrive, very old design but still a good design. Borg-Warner used to make similar and now Gear Vendors is used on muscle cars.
