H89 head is in great condition. i purchased this from a member 6 months ago and have since purchased a complete A15 so i no longer need it.

to lay everyones doubts to wrest. head is UNTOUCHED. as you can see by the images it measures just under 74mm, which according to our wiki is a VIRGIN head measurement.

so price is $300 plus postage

It has had a considerable amount milled off the top of the head, is the head still hard or has it gone soft? Or do you know why they milled the top down?

I didn't even know it had been milled. I went on by what I was told when I purchased it. Whether it is soft or hard I couldn't tell you I wouldn't know.

I don't see why being machined off the top would be an issue to performance or reliability of the head. Only the rocker cover touches that surface. I'm no expert but that's how I see it.

I would say at some point the head has been hot so they have had to machine both surfaces so there parallel to each other.
As for service of the head it shouldnt be a problem the only issue would be if too much was taken off the top it alters pushrod/rocker
if that can be maintained at the correct spec's then there would be a slight alter in comp even .5 would only mean maybe 1hp so it's not high compression
Measure the thickness of the head this will give you a better understanding what has been done to it
if in doubt keep it for spares for your new engine.
cheers anthony

My H89 head measures at 75.3
So perhaps we need some clarification although wiki is fantastic it's not always 100% correct, that's why it gets up dated
between your head and mine there is over 40thou difference
cheers
