dose anyone here still run bs34 or cvk34 bike carbs? i need to know what jet size to run.
i know clyons8 has and i already pm him about his jet size but he has not answered.
the carbs came sock on a 1100cc bike so the stock size would not be to much off.
i am running 74mm bore also if the helps to decide.

I will be, are you putting them on a 12 or bigger? I'd be starting at 140 main jet and play with the needle shims

140 rings a bell for an A12 I owned over 15 years ago now and was bought by sidedraught but my A16 was closer to 150

I'll try 140 then. I just don't want to ruin my cylinders as i just got them bored and don't have money for a wideband. I know biker some times tune by spark plug color. How is it done and can it be done with the a12? Also is it more safer to run lean or rich?

Rich is safe

Lean is never safe

Jet for ratio first (12:1 for max power), then
tune for response to acceleration. See Carburetor Tuning

Sorry I can't remember. I didn't bother getting jets I had the existing ones resized.

Have you tried the existing jetting at all?
