I've decided to run the stock strut based on the position of the new wheels. They already extend slightly past the guard(1) so my 200b struts may attract unwanted attention.

Can anyone tell me which 45mm inserts and lowered springs they have tried that drop it 2- 2 1/2 inches?

Something like pic 3 would be sweet

you can get away with a 2inch drop on standard length struts (just) so any decent insert will do. I dont know of a good spring
that'll drop it 2 inch straight up but cut down gemini coils are good as it ups the spring rate a fair bit, possibly a little too
much for street but hey thats a dirt cheap setup.

if you have money to burn go for a shortened strut, koni yellows and an adjustable spring platform so you can set your height exactly how you want it.

Or you can lower the stock spring (instead of cutting it).

What I would do is use King Springs for a 30 mm drop, then lower the spring perch another 20mm. See http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawi ... Lowering_the_spring_perch

Oh but king springs say 30mm lower. In most cases they dont lower at all. Jmacs even raised his car from stock

Make sure you install roll centre adjusters if you go that low.

Okay so I've changed my mind again on the struts.

Going with the 200b shortened strut (for the easy disc upgrade)because I found an engineer that will rethread the tube.

Do I shorten the strut to the length of the 300zx insert or is there a better option?
