Hi all just joined the site so I apologise if this is in the wrong place on the forum.

I have just fitted a new carb for a A14 engine but I have put it onto an A15 engine.
It's running rich.
Things I have noted. the engine is sitting level and the carb is pointing down towards the front. Is this correct and will I have to reset the float so make it weaker.

Thanks Paul.

The carby should have a glass window to show if the float level is correct. Is the car rich at idle, or while driving? You could always put a smaller main jet in. Strangely enough, the A15 uses a smaller main than the A12/A14. I've got one of those newer carbs on an A12 & it runs rich, too. I've leaned it out & it still is too rich. Think I'll throw that 28/30 DGV on it & have a carby I can understand.

Yes the float level is very high but It maybe because the carb is not level and is pointing down towards the front of the car. So I may machine it level and see what that does before doing anything to the carb.
Or again change it for a webber or even single motor bike carbs for each pot.
