Hi all,
Has any one fitted a ca18det into a 1200 usuing the manual trans tunnel.
I an half way through this conversion and the tunnel is very close to the gearbox, I am usuing the 240k box as I was told it is skinner than the silvia box, I wonder if this is true??
I read a post the other day that sugested that you had to use the auto trans tunnel
I wonder??

If you use the original silvia gearbox, then you are going to need to insert a box section into the top of trans tunnel anyway. It also requires moving the gearstick backwards. This applies Auto or Manual. Only the Stumpy Skyline box with Series 3 Bluebird bellhousing (as far as I know) fits in with no tunnel mods.

You could make the gearbox fit if you mounted it on an angle. But that's look bad, and wouldn't be a real good install.
