Hello all.

I'm interested in an A14 and i've found one (they are very rare where i live).
But the seller doesn't know it's horsepower...
How can i know if it's an 80hp A14 or a low power one?

Sorry for my english... :s

It should Have A14 or A12 stamped on block and all so the engine number would
start with A12 or A14 And if it is a A14 the inlet manifold would be
different A14 is oval port.

If you are going to do some work to it and rebuild it, It doesnt matter. http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawiki/index.php?title=A14_Engine

I'm only interested if it's the 80hp version.
If the engine is the 65hp version i don't want it.

Is there any way to identify?
Number in the head? Number on the engine block?

The seller say it as round ports, not oval and it's from an 81 datsun b310

Well it seems you answered your own question if it is a round port and probably has H95 head on it, my guess without seeing it is 65HP motor

A14 65 hp == round port head + low RPM camshaft (5400 rpm)
A14 80 hp == oval port head + standard RPM cam (6000 rpm)
