Well there seems to be a few Aucklanders, at least half a dozen that I can remember, along with few others scattered about the place, one place in Auckland might be the Z car club, but I'm not sure how open they are?

I know it doesn't really help you over there, but the Capital Z-car Club here in Texas allows the "country cousins" of the Z-car (1200, 510, etc.) to come to their annual meetings. If they aren't Z-car purist snobs, they will probably let you crash the event. Ooh, perhaps "crash" isn't the best word to use. Well, you know what I mean.

when my brothers mate parks his 240z near my 1200 i see similarities in the lines and the only major diffrence is the 240z has a hatch instead of a stupid little boot, and the z's guards are heaps fatter and obviously the front is not similar, but yeah i reckon they look alike in some ways

I know what you mean. Especially the 2+2 Zs look like the 1200 (squinting helps), and then Nissan moved the Z even closer to the Sunny style with the 300ZX. Now if they'll just make a new RWD Sunny based off the 350Z, that would be a real car.
