A14 type engine - factory HP & torque graph.

A14 : 80 PS @ 6000 RPM
A14E: 92 PS @ 6400 RPM

PS is german horsepower rating, which is very close to SAE HP.

It uses a GX-like camshaft to achieve this power (longest duration cam of factory A-series). And probably helped by the tuned intake runners, because the head ports are not as large as a GX engine. Compression is same as regular A14 at 9:1.

Torque
A14 : 11.5 kg/m @ 3600 RPM
A14E: 11.7 kg/m @ 3600 RPM

so no loss or torque, and still they widened the powerband.

The EGI A-Engine featured the best flowing A-series exhaust manifold as well.

There have been at least four different types of manifolds used on the A-Engine EGI series.

Okay, there is one more that points right toward the ground, meaning the flange face is parallel with the road surface.

I wonder how much the exhaust manifolds contribute to the substantial power increase.

That first manifold pictured looks like it would work particularly well.

The last manifold pictured is reminiscent of the infamous GX & T series (& not so infamous KB10) twin outlet with a few subtle changes.

Not huge strides of development but you can certainly see the improvement.

I wonder if 100hp was possible with higher 10.5:1 compression A15E
but also match porting these ugly casted manifolds?
im sure the Hyundai version is prob better for availability and flow
