I may have one if it ever turns up. I bought one an thought it wasnt going to turn up, so order another from someone else. It was for an A12, but I think they are all the same in the late motors......someone correct me if I am wrong. I am in Wollongong so could send it to you or straight to Sydney. Wiki says they can be interchanged

I should have one from a late style (mid-dizzy) engine. I'm also in Sydney. If you don't mind, what grind are you getting & from whom. I've recently got stuff from SWMotorsport & Camtech, so know where they are. Also. Ive got a couple of old cams of this type, I think one is a 54/86 & another that was in my 1000 hillclimb car with the 120Y style motor. let me know if this helps you out.

Hi, Yes Camtech (now wade have gone) I was looking at the 608(a) although I was looking for something a little smaller but not as small as there 609(a)
In the rally car I am looking for good power from 3500-7500
I have lots of Wade cams but I think there all a bit big. There 176C cam has been the best so far.

The cam I had in my 1000 hillclimb car (1298cc A12) went into a 1200 Rallycar after I sold it. The cam I have in the shed is the same grind, I used it in an A15 race engine, but replaced it with an Arthur Johnson 55/88 or something. The A12 made a lot of torque & ran out about 7000 rpm. I don't know who's grind it was, but I got it through somebody I trusted & I think it was a speedway grind. I should drag it out & see if I can see a number. I'' also see if I have a standard cam in there. How are you off for reground lifters?

Excellent the cam you have in the shed with this grind is it used?
It will be going into a A14 with 79mm pistons 1500cc. It large port head 40/33 valves and is using quad 39mm keihin carbs (Cams Classic Regs)
I have lots of used lifters and can get them faced over here.

Yes, it's used, we had it in an A15 for a couple of supersprints, then realised we needed a bigger cam. The A15 was 1598 cc with big ports, etc, so the cam just wasn't good enough, compared to another fellow with a duplicate motor with an arthur johnson cam. I've looked in the shed & it has 4d655 stamped on the back. I tried googling this number, but got nothing back. It's not a wade part number, it's not camtech, or tighe engineering. It's got all the journals & lobes taped up to protect them, plus it is definitely a late type cam. Unfortuneately the fellow I got it through retired 5 years ago, but I might be able to track him down tomorrow, to see if he can remember who he got the cam off. It's definitely got a lot off the back of the lobe, compared to the standard cam that was in the same box.
PS when I got Camtech to regrind some lifters for me, they gave me grief because they weren't clean. Seeing as they were oiled up to protect them from corrosion, I was quite active in my reply. This brought the cam grinder himself to the front, where he agreed with me. bit of a shock for the counter jumper, really.

I called my friend today to see if he can remember where the cam came from. As the engine was built in 1993, his first reply was unprintable. After a bit of a chat, he said that to the best of his recollection, the cam was from camtech. Probably an old catelogue number. As Im not too sure what the cam is worth, & don't really have any plans to use it, if you pay the postage, you can have the cam. Though, if you had a set of washers that sit under the twin valve springs, I wouldn't mind swapping. Just so you know, I've also found a stock late style cam if you want to go back to your original plan. & 2 54/86 cams ( 224a's) if anyones interested.
