G'day gents,

Looking to buy a new Alternator for my A12 Ute. Have trawled through the tech wiki but didn't find the answer I was looking for. All of the information contained in the tech wiki seems only to be related to US and Japan models with respect to availability of Alternators.

I have the 1974- Later A12 with the Alternator mounted high up on the driver side. Looking for a direct replacement with an Internal Voltage Reg. Is there a Bosch or similar Alternator with these requirements that will bolt straight up without any mods?

Cheers,
Joey.

You can use a alternator from a xf ford falcon
but it requires small mods to wiring and mounts

All u have to do is cut the bracket on the engine to suit alter nator

And buy a slightly longer v belt

Then wire uP

Very easy to do

Can anyone confirm what Ange has suggested? Where can I find part numbers for Bosch alternators?

Which model does 120Y come with? Hitachi LT-150? The locally produced sedan may have a local alternator, while Japan-built coupe may have another.

If so then certain 1980s Nissan alternators will fit. Maybe even 1980s Subaru.

Our Tech article says
Quote:
Alternator

Late 120Y Australian assembled have a Lucas single wire internally regulated alternator.
...
Lucas 15AC missing F terminal (indicating internally regulated)

Ute uses same alternator as 1200 coupe, sedan, wagon.

Nissan part number 23100-B9810 bolts up directly with no mods. HOWEVER the wiring requires simple mods.

I don't think those are available here in Oz so I'm looking for an alternative aftermarket option.
