Hi. I'm looking for 1,2,3 or 4 dead straight hubcaps as came on the 1200 Sedan in 1970/1971.

See example
http://www.shoeys.com/1200_cap.jpg

I also need the washer bag bracket ( the bag had a kangaroo on it). This mounted on the exhaust side of the engine bay.

Preferably need these parts in Sydney. Will pay for postage from anywhere in AUS.

I'm going hunting at the wrecking yards on the weekend, I might find the bracket, but the hubcaps, I'm expecting are hanging up in someones garage.

Chris.

ps, if anyones got the original crossply tyres that came with the 1200, that would be even better. My spare tyre is the original crossply.

Chris i should be able to set you up with the original bracket and i have an original white wall that was the spare on my 1000, i have a 1200 hubcap on it at the moment but it is dinged a bit ( not sure if its the kind you are after) The bracket you can have ( i should double check i have it, but i am pretty sure i do!) and the tyre will cost you $5. as it is a master piece on my garage wall at the moment and i will need the $5 to bye something to replace it with!

If your interested let me know and i will get my mate to pull his finger out and get his crossmember out for your dad to modify . Then when i bring that to you i will set you up will these things you need.
( will probably be next year say mid January!)
If you are in a rush and are hopeing to get your car ready for a show just let me know and i will drop them up at Jeff's next time i am up that way. ( usually once a week)
Cheers, Steve

also Chris try JTS- Jeff Taylor for thr hubcaps as I am sure he has got them hidden somewhere or knows of some! If he does have them just keep working on him as he can be persuaded if he knows its for a good cause!

Stock restoration, eh? Excellent! Hope you are able to post more pics of the interior. You have the red/white one, right?

Yep The white one with the red interior.

The plan is to fully restore it. It needs a little bit of paint work, to fix some old flakey paint. The engine may need a rebuild to clean out the coolant galleries from years of sitting idle. But that's about it. It runs beautifully at the moment, and starts first time. I had to adjust the choke/throttle linkage and point gap to get it perfect.

I hope to get it out for the next Sydney Datsun Club or DatNet.org event.

I have the car in deep storage at a friends place. So I only get to see it every couple of weeks. It's insured and registered..which makes the fact that it's sitting in storage a sad fact. When I buy a house (hopefully soon) I'll need a 4 car garage, so I can protect my Dattos from the rain and evil people.

The weather is a bit cloudy at the moment. So I've been unable to get the car out. The plan is to never get it wet Except during a wash on a warm day. When I have the time to towel down all of the water that makes it's way past the old rubbers. I'm happy it's lasted in such good condition for the past 30 years. It's my duty to keep it in good shape for at least another 30.

I'll get some pics and put them in an album on here. I might get time over the coming weekend to take the photos.

Cheers,
Chris.

The ebay hubcaps didn't selll ... make him an offer!

I noticed the seller is "r100 guy". What is it about 1200s and BMW bikes that just seems so natural together? Er, I guess that r100 probably is a rotary car.

I was going to put an offer in, but I'm a Sedan man, and those there hubcaps be coupe ones :)

Otherwise I'd be in there like a 1/2 blind, 3 legged male dog in a locked room filled with female dogs on heat...whatever that means..

Chris
