how do you guys think a mini panel van would go with a A-12 in it i reckon it would go good considering the weight of the car and the pwoer of the A-12 the stock mini coopers motor on ly has some thing like 1000cc so a nother 200cc's would do the car a lot more
the only problem would be cus the car is front wheel drive and datsun 1200's are rear wheel drive you would have to get a one of those cars o remeber some one posted a site about this god uglycar but the dude did it up and it was a front wheel drive and it had i think it was an A-12 cus he upgraded it to a A-14

the reasn i ask is my unkle had one and i might get one considering the were the slowest car mini made so they are cheaper and my dad might pay that much and its a perfect project car or just some thing to learn the basics of engines and cars and there is less panels to sand back and respray

If anything is going to go into a mini an A series Datsun motor should as it was originally based on the A series BMC engine of the Mini, although the mini engine came out as large as 1300cc in Austin Allegro's and 1300's anyway. There is also a HUGE amount of performance parts available for minis so unless you go to an A15 I wouldn't think it would be worth the effort of adapting it to fit on top of the mini gearbox.

Unless you're just into the challenge (which is half the fun)!

Yeah 1200ute8u1, I'd have to agree the rover V8 engine is the way to go. It's nearly a bolt in according to that site. And didn't Rover and mini merge at some point, which makes that engine appropriate.

How would the panel van go with an A12? Slowly ... But the engine should be more reliable. eh nothing is more reliable than an A12. And it would be a lot of fun to swap the A12 in.

I wouldnt bother mucking about trying to fit it.
You could get a 1198cc or 1300cc mini motor.
you can do lots with them. i had 2 minis and my old man did up a schmick cooper s. he had it bored out to about 1400 cc. all race spec innards. used to go like the clappers.
being so close to the ground make things seem to go past really fast, and they corner like nothing else!

oh, i forgot, this is a datsun room isnt it
