G'day all, it's been many years since I was last here but a new build has brought me back.
After 20 odd years of this game, I should know better but I recently purchased some A series extractors from ebay Australia for $190 delivered from "aps8748"
Bad idea you say ? Damn straight but someone had to do it.
They foul the block near the idler arm to the point that the flange
can't sit flush against the head. Flange is not remotely flat and pipes are very poorly angled restricting access to mounting studs, badly. I have pics, my tablet wont let me resize them, I'll endevour to get them up asap, failing that, I can e-mail or text them to you if needed.
Cheers, Jas.

Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully your warning will help others from buying the same ones. It is a common problem with headers, but those sound worse than most. The USA headers fit with only the usual problems, which slight bending/grinding will fix.

Hmm I bought a chinese manufactured elec dizzy and had a guy with a dizzy dyno check it. He said that the springs wernt strong enough to return the mechanical advance and the mapping/weighting was horrible

Yeah, same dizzy's I bought, he's out of stock on the extractors at the moment. But I'll have a trial set from him soon. Very helpful guy actually, he popped into our parts store a couple of weeks ago and dropped off my dizzy's .
Remap is a good idea, advance curve is a bit , umm, yeah....
Dyno tune here in Canberra is going to do mine, I'll let y'all know how it looks, better safe than sorry !
