Hi Guys
What sort of horsepower figures are you getting out of your A series motors ? And how are you achieving this ?
Look forward to your posts
Bob

My A12 pushed out 62 crank HP (45 rear-wheel HP). Via careful tuning. Lots of 1200s put out less, but having good plugs and timing will result in full output.

A15 [1525cc] 117.8 RWHP. 14.8 CR on e85. Toyota 3T T50 transmission, 4.8:1 final drive. All the usual mods, knife edge crank. Carrillo rods, Arias pistons. 38mm inlet valves, 33mm exhaust valves. 0.6mm Nismo head gasket. ARP fasteners, improved Rockers, lightweight pushrods and lifters. re-graphed Bluebird dizzy. Bosch HEC715 coil. It cost a bomb to collect the parts, machining and assembly. 38mm primary ID tube 4 into 1 headers into collector and 2.5 inch exhaust. From memory it was ~$8K to do, including the tune. A solid 3 days on the dyno mucking around with timing, fuel metering and ram tube lengths.

One of the Dyno power runs from a few years ago.

My A12GX; GX cam, ported head, header, 2 inch exhaust, FCR 39mm flat slides, standard electronic distributor, 10-1 compression made 73whp. This cost a shade over $1000

Same set up as above but with 460 lift 286 duration cam made a hair over 80whp. Cost $1278

A15: 1508cc, GX head ported, reduced neck valves 37/30mm, 278 duration .420 lift cam, header, 39mm flat slides, Arias forged Pistons, 11-1 compression, standard electronic distributor, 2 inch exhaust. Estimated to be about 107 to 110whp. I'll know for sure next month when I actually put it on a dyno. Cost $3240

You can see the dollar to power output, starts out slow and then round the 80-85 whp takes of rapidly.

As published somewhere on here Dave Pattons A15 powered 1200 race car made a shade over 150hp at the wheels.

Tom
