Quick question. Are the radiators for the 1000 and the 1200 the same?
Thanks

The 1000 radiator has less cooling capacity

Yes. I've seen triple core 1200 radiators at a reasonable price but from what I can make out they're too tall for the 1000. Anyone know for sure? I don't have an original 1000 radiator at the moment so can't work out the size comparison.

They are the same size if I remember correctly, but the 1200 one has finer fin pitch, thus cools better (can handle the extra HP of the A12)

The Datsun 1200 GX came with a 3-core radiator and could handle 83 hp

The measurements for the two is 380x460 (top of cap) for the 1200 and 390 (top of cap) x460 for the 1000.

Good to know. So even though the 1200 radiator is a bit smaller, it cools 20% better per the factory introduction book.

A new N13/N14 radiator is less expensive than those Champion 3-core radiators, although they are probably too big for a 1000 (they fit nicely into a 1200)

The cores are virtually the same. 250x430 for the 1000 and 330x330 for the 1200.

We've bought one of those Chinese triple core alloy 1200 radiators which with some custom brackets will fit.

There were mixed reviews about the Chinese radiators so now we'll find out for ourselves.

I know S13 radiators are to wide for a Thou, I know from personal experience.

I'm using a VW Golf Mk2 radiator with an inline filler neck.
