Hey guys,

I'm thinking of getting myself a tool chest and all the spanners and sockets,is kincrome a good brand that's good enough for the amature mechanic like myself? The one I'm looking at is a 208pc 15 draw complete tool chest on wheels for $1700 or do I go with sidchrome chest with 161pcs and no bottom chest for $999.

For tools that will out last you and have a warranty to back it have a look at SP Tools and Gear wrench especially if your spending that sort of coin SP have some great kits. I use SP stuff at work daily and at home i have quite a bit of Stanley sockets and spanners that i find great for hobby use.

P.S the brand you and nick mentioned are also fine for home use The thing to look out for when buying any kits as i was warned about is that they can often be full of rarely used items that are just like filler e.g torx bits and hex bits lots of small stuff that are handy but as i said rarely used.
Look for kits that are bulked up with sockets, spanners, ratchets, Selections of pliers, Screw drivers etc.. and lean towards metric more than imperial really in my experience.

Thank guys,

datsandy I have been looking at the sp brand and they look pretty impressive and thanks for your imput about the junk they fill them with,i never thought about that.So I think either the sidchrome or the sp would be the go,both around the $800 mark then later on ill get the trolley bottom part.

Yeah cool man dont be to concerned about what roll cabinet you get as long as the box you buy fits on top as it wont go through to much hell at your house on a cement floor. I have Sidchrome 7 drawer base at work and our floors are pretty rough and uneven in spots it goes well and good price at bunnings.
