Hey guys I'm looking at doing a run of bast height adjustable Coilovers to suit 70's & 80's datsuns with 45 and or 51mm struts.
This will be a full custom kit I will be negotiating with a supplier to either sell the kits or I'll be able to offer the complete units.

As parts for Coilovers in 45mm struts are getting harder to find a good choice of inserts I'm going to try a few setups. These will offer 36 way adjustable Coilovers and they will be base height adjustable so you can raise and lower the car without changing Spring pre load.

Looking for people wanting a kit like this so I can do some more costing.
Atm the price I have got is very competitive with my Coilovers I normally make, so the kit will be $1500 plus you supply the struts.

This will inc cambertops, Spring rate choice, and a good range of adjustment

Good stuff!
* the lower adjuster ring is for the base height
* the upper adjuster ring is for height via spring preload
Normal coilovers only have the one adjuster ring, and the threaded collar is welded to the strut tube

How are these threaded collars fixed to the strut tube? Is it just the weight of the car keeping it in? I know the strut rod is bolted in so it won't come all the way out ...

Having trouble picturing how that works -- doesn't the lower adjusting nut need to move, and thus the threaded portion move relative to the strut tube? Never seen one of the base height adjustables before

The bottom nut locks to the step and locks on the thread like the normal Coilovers do.

OK, found this post by Robby:

... a 'base height' adjustable kit, you cut your standard strut tube down to about 2" long and weld on an internally threaded sleeve.
So it's a lot more complicated than just fitting an adjustable spring seat to the strut!

Oh yeah there's a fair bit involved as well as finding a kit that will work and be valved to suit the weights we require, these are Australian built units too not from cheap China stuff

So I have spoken with the supplier and can get a trade account but need to order a few to show I'm keen.
So as a special starting price I'm going to offer these at $1250 plus you pay postage and supply the struts.
These will be your struts converted into base height adjustable Coilovers and cambertops, they are 36way adjustable and you will have a choice of 4~8kg setup
