Charging Issue on my b210

Hi Guys

I have a problem in my b210 when on idle suddenly i get a click noise from the voltage regulator and immediately charge
bulb comes on , What Would be the Issue is it alternator ? or Regulator ?
When Higher Rpm No sign of anything like that

It is usually a problem with the Regulator. The job of the regulator is 1) to turn alternator on/off rapidly to average about 13.5 V (because alternator on = 17V or more) and 2) to turn the Dash Lamp on when alternator is not charging (which sometimes makes an audible click)

To test the alternator use simple jumper wires (see Basic Testing)

Hi Guys

OK Done it was a problem with my alternator , i have fitted a alternator with diode plate it was a short diode plate, fixed the issue it is fine now

Thanks for letting us know -- a click can be caused by a shorted diode. By testing the alternator as above, the problem can be determined to be not caused by the regulator
