pitroad

this shows a picture of an engine that looks exactly the same as mine did when i picked it up from the importer. it came with the same wierd intake thing over the carby and same rubber cover over the distributor cap. I had a good look at the intake thingy and i found that it would be very useful in blow through turbocharging in place of making your own carby hat as it has a rubber seal over the carby. not to mention the fact its a factory nissan part.... if anyone knows anything, any info would be appreciated.

A15改1607cc製作
Translates to A15 (something) 1607cc (production)

This is from the link to that page. I'm not able to explain the funky intake filter box.

If you do a google search on A15 nissan, the engines were used in all kinds of industrial applications.

Did you notice that the page adress mentions A17, probably insignificant, but I wonder?

I wondered about that. Good one B310GX.

I've not ever gone down the A15 route. I was going to, but the CA's were about the same price. And I used to get better economy out of the CA18DE than I got from the A14....When driven normally...

Chris.

if you delete the last bit of the address you go to a page of links and the link says a-17 engine to

but that block looks normal size and i dont like chances of getting an a-15 out to 1.7 ltr

maybe they have a longer stroke crank, the japanese seem to do that for everything these days,& thats the only way to get bigger than 1608 from an a15.maybe they bore it to blaizes, then use cylinder liners for bigger pistons, but there isnt that much room between no's 2 & 3 cylinders.
