if you get an sr20 det and take the turbo off do u have to change the pistens and conpretion ect?

You could, the standard compression of a S13 SR20DET is 8.5:1 so with no turbo on it it will still go ok but nothing special. It would play havoc with the standard computer if you are running it, aftermarket you could tune around it. Also if you are going to de-turbo one for engineers and then whack it back on after engineers,you have just voided your certificate that you've just paid big money for. Not smart.
