Hi All,

Can anyone tell me if I will need a new rear gearbox mount like the pitroad pic for a dogleg 60L 5 speed to fit into a 1200 coupe?

Cheers

Shero

That Pitroad piece is the bee's knees, complete bolt-in solution

It is actually three things:
* Standard 60-series rubber mount, e.g. from A10, B310, 810, etc.
* A small crossmember with offset tabs (the 60 bolts about 40mm further back)
* threaded plug for the Reverse switch (which has to be disabled -- removed and the hole plugged)

Buy at Bprojects about $200 USD

Thanks DD,

I’ll try and get one through Bprojects. Are they easy enough to order from?

Yes we bought some no problems Their web order page does all the work http://www.datsun1200.asia/category/select/cid/292/pid/9512 -- click "Add to Cart"

Here is the Pitroad crossmember

Sure looks better than the homemade ones

The only thing that is better is to move the body mount (un-pick then reweld about 40mm further back). This allows the REVERSE LIGHTS to work. See Gearbox crossmember modification

Thanks DD,

I’ve actually tried ordering through this site before and couldn’t do it.

I set up an account with them and emailed to find out why transactions wouldn’t go through. The response was there was an issue with the ordering site and the easiest way to purchase off eBay.

The kicker is the parts are far more expensive on eBay than directly off the website.

A welder, A couple chunks of steel, a few holes and you'll be good to go. 👍

I simply used the standard 60 series rubber mount and then cut a sort of u shaped plate out of 8mm flat steel plate. It's ugly as all get out but it's under the car so I don't care.

Yes, that works as well as the Pitroad unit. Uses a standard B310/A10 rubber mount. I used like this. For the 60L use 20mm spacers on the bolts, for the 60A no spacers are used or vice-versa

I haven't looked for a long time but I think mine just has a big chunk of steel plate to move the rear gearbox mount.
