Isuzu gemini in the background sitting there like a heavyweight
Did you have that model in American DD as a different name apart
from the Chevette?

Datldo is a classic from a famous movie

yes we got the Isuzu I-Mark with 51hp diesel. It was a rarely seen car here. I only know about it because my friend had one

The Chevette was a best-selling car here (Chevrolet Chevette/Pontiac T1000) designed in Detroit and manufactured in Delaware. The Chevrolet Chevette was different with not a single body panel used by the international versions. 2.8 million sold but it was unloved and today there are only two left on the island

Quote:
The Chevette's 1.4-liter base iron-block engine weighed 59 lb less than the Vega's much-heralded aluminum-block engine.
That's a serious weight reduction

Yep the Vega twin cam cossworth engine was sandcasted like the SR20DE
and most older Honda L4 engines pre Y2K I think.
However the Vega twin cam had its short comings in many areas as it
was the first all alloy twin cam l4 from chev. With some careful
tweaking some folks have got 2.4L out of them sleeving, better cooling
tweaks and some other things which I cant recall.
Today take your pic of twin cam 16v engines from Chrysler, ford and Chev
apart from all the imports the L4 Mustang with 320hp and almost 300lbs
of torque is hard to ignore vs a v6 for ease of packaging and economy.

After the turbo versions, Chris built it for high-RPM and put twin Mikuni-Solex carburetors

* A12 bored out 40 thousands inch (for +1.0 mm pistons, resulting in 1204cc)
* flat-top pistons
* 10.8:1 compression ratio
* diamond lapped decked block and shaved head
* ported cylinder head with A15 inlet valves/Mazda 1300 exhaust valves, double valve springs
* adjustable timing gear
* 34/72 cam
* Hi-Tech extractors
