I got my Datsun near the end of last summer, paying $300 for it. I bought it from an old couple, the wife started crying when i drove it away. I figure I probably got a good deal. It had 62,500 miles on it when i bought it. Since then I have put around 5,000 miles on it. It has front and rear spoilers, side graphics, and a vinyl roof. I added a Pioneer cd player, 6" Pioneer speakers, and 700watt 8" subwoofers. This spring I plan on installing either a CA18-DE or CA18-DET motor, 15" custom wheels, dark blue paint, new interior, mazda RX-7 posi-trac rear end, and window tint. I'll try to get up some pictures of it as it is right now as soon as I can. Tell me what you think and if you have any ideas please tell me.

Hi My_Baby_Datto, welcome!

Sounds good -- don't ever get rid of it! The old couple had the spoilers on it? That's funny.

Do you have a picture of this nice coupe?

Sounds like a nice one! I have to just add a few comments/questions. 15" wheels are not going to be an easy fit unless you flare the fenders, or if you swap out the front struts for 79-82 210 struts and use FWD rims with the right offset. The stock 1200 struts/hubs will require longer wheel studs and fat spacers to stick a 15x6.5" wheel out far enough away from the strut. The 210 struts/hubs eliminated the need to do this on my 1200. Also, all the RX-7's I've seen all had independant rear suspension making a straight swap near impossible. Older RX-2's and RX-3's have a leaf springs and the right setup to swap over to the 1200 fairly easily. I haven't seen too many vinyl tops on 1200's, but I'm sure you know that they can be water/rust trappers, so you may want to think about an alternative since Datsuns rust out pretty easily in a harsh environment like N. Dakota. Good luck with your project!

vinyl top ... rare option. 15x5 wheels will fit just as easily as 13x5 wheel, depending on tire size. For example, 50-series 15" tires about the same height as 70-series 13" tires. The offset is the most important thing. There was discussion about this last month in the main forum.
