qr16de is also possible starting with a qr20de and sr16ve crank and rods.
An american shop was doing sr20de crank and rods into qr25de for sqr23det
This was before 2007 when non-full counter weighed QR cranks were the norm
and many wanted to boost early QR engines safely.
https://www.sr20forum.com/threads/sqr23det-pics-update.129674/The post 2007 qr25de makes 203hp stock at 203 PS at 6,000 rpm
then using a 68.7mm sr16ve crank and rods with qr25de pistons
89mm you will end up with 1708cc
900cc less will need 2000-2500 more rpm and sr16ve bottom ends
are usually discarded for sr20de bottoms for U2lt classes.
SR16/20VE are very pricey and rare nowdays QR is everywhere
lighter, cheap and smaller pressure die cast vs SR sandcast
Just a pointer as L series, SR, KA, Z and QR share similar
bore spacings and one could even run an L14 crankshaft if
turned down to suit the narrower QR mains 89mm x 66m = 1642cc
or offset ground to 64.25mm 1598cc.
