Hi Everyone,

I am from Perth, Australia and bought this one on a bit of a whim in Jan this year. Certainly, wasn't looking for a sunny (Formally owned 510's) however the condition, price and a brief moment of weakness made it happen.

One owner from new. Full history, 60,000km on original A12. Next to no rust, mint interior and body.

Was planning on keeping it fairly original apart from rims and an SR20 transplant however after doing some research and all the upgrades required (brakes, diff etc) I realise I don't have the time and money to drop into it with small kids running around.

Instead, I'm planning on going down the Turbo A12 route after reading Sykine's inspiration budget build thread. I thought I'd give it a go.

I'll post the progress here and hopefully get a hand as well if I can.

Cheers.

Thanks, yeah its an 80' Model but not sure if its a GL or not. How would i tell. It has no fancy tacho or nice bumpers so i'm assuming its the povo pack.

Not sure about your country, but in Japan the GL trim had the bumper with rubber-covered ends. In Europe it seems this was standard on all trims

The style wheels with beauty rings were an option, but I think they were 13"

The lowest trim B310 had 12" wheels. All the A14/A15 models came with 13" wheels

The lowest dash had a blank plate next to the speedometer, but GLs had gauges there. Here are some JAPAN-market and USA-market photos

Well turns out it is a GL based on the badge on the boot lid I forgot about.

A few more pics as well (painful that the photos have to be so small)

hey that is nice inside and out. With the price of petrol, enjoy its 35 mpg efficiency!

re: the pics, they are small but still big enough to get the idea across. Thanks for posting them

Looks like it has the factory optional digital clock, I think 1980 was the first year they were available

I have been tossing and turning on this and have recommitted to the SR20det engine swap.

I have been reading about the Stanza/(A10) cross member that bolts into the B310 has the mounting position that will suit the SR20det engine brackets making it all a driect bolt in without any cutting or welding. Can anyone verify this?
Further, I can't find any info on whether the suspension from the B310 will bolt straight back up to the stanza/(A10) crossmember or you need suspension parts from the stanza/(A10) also such as control arms and tie rods etc.

Also, I can't seem to find anything about the gearbox crossmember options. I presume modifying the sr20 gearbox xmember to suit is the best bet?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Are you sure the A10 crossmember will fit the B310? B310 uses three different LCA, depending on year. Thankfully all use same ball joint & bushing. Perhaps they have just minor production updates and are interchangeable?

The suspension that bolts to the crossmember is:
* LCA
* Ball Joints (A10 uses the larger of the B310 units)
* Tension Rod
* Swaybar link

The SR20 from RWD cars uses the same mount location as L-series and CA-series, so that's why they say A10 crossmember (for L-series engine) will work with SR

Hey ddgonzal thanks for the info. In the end I bought another 80' model B310 with a running CA18Det in it that I am going to remove and transplant into my B310 so thankfully all of the fitting kit questions have answered themselves.

I will keep you updated as things progress.
