dose anybody have any experience with removing these permanently. I’m talking about the bracket on the inside of the center of the door skin with some foam in some spots. I’m asking because one of the doors I have had it removed for rust repair and it’s now missing. I hope I do not have to source a new door just because that bracket is missing.

Are you asking about 1971-1972 doors, or the 1973 door? They are very different

I had no idea door construction was different, It’s a 1973 coupe. What is the difference in pre 73 models ?

As I'm in parts gathering mode for my 1972 1200 Coupe I'd like to hear about the difference in the doors as well. Are they interchangeable 72 to 73 Coupe?. Are the fenders all the same for 1200 models and years? What are the differences? Are they interchangeable? I spent a few hours over the weekend reading on this site, and didn't find the fender interchangeability information.
Are the hoods all the same for model, and years of 1200's?
I'd like to thank everyone for putting together this great resource, and sharing information.

The difference for 1973 is only for North America models, to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) for crash safety

Doors interchange

1973 changes
* 2-1/2 mph bumpers
* Door side-impact beams
* Revised seat-belt anchorages
* Anti-flammable interior materials (vinyl upholstery)

FMVSS 73-01 No. 214 Side Impact Protection is why the 1973 doors have a side-impact beam fitted inside the door

fender interchangeability information, all fenders bolt on, only the size of the side-lamp hole differs between North America and rest of world

The door skin, which Datsun called the Outside Door Panel, is the same all years, all countries.

The door panel assembly, which has the door body with the skin welded on, also the window frame/sash welded on, is different for 1973 North America. The Bulletin outlines the differences. I can't remember if the guard beam is internally welded to the skin, or if it only bolts to the frame

In any case, the skin is the same. The internal brackets might differ

Here is a picture of a skin being welded to a 2-door frame
