can any one tell me wat an a14 carb and intake manifold would be like on an A12?? i currently have a weber 32/36 dgav and it uses a hell of a lot of fuel and i cant put the a12 carb back on as i smashed it with a hammer cos i hate them also would i be better off working an a14 head for my a12 rather than the a12 head?
thanx

the a12 carb without the pollution stuff was the best of the stock carby's,so it's a pity that you 'broke' it when you took it off.so,the next question is,what jets you running in the dgav, not stock 2 litre cortina ones.i'd try around the 115 main jet mark.oh & new jets are something like $3 each from Carbarettor Services in sydney,so you should be able to do some cheap fiddling, because any carby place should have a range of new ones.

I'm going to have to agree with b310gx in that if the Weber is tuned properly, it should run circles around the stock Hitachi carbs. I could be wrong though. Give the A-14 carb a go and if it doesn't work, tell us and we'll all know!

B310gx is right, downsize the jets in your Weber and you'll get back your economy. I recommend getting a 'jet kit' with a selection of jets, so you can fine-tune it. You'll be glad you did.

The A14 and A12 carbs are both Hitachi 306s.

Will the A14 intake manifold fit your A12? Take a look at this:
