so today im off to the wreckers to get the dizzy, tommorow ill go visit him and find out about it and hopefullt have a perv at his racecar

he tells me i wont have a problem with the dizzy, he uses em in his racecars which rev to 10500rpm

i just wen to get a dizzy to do it with but:

1st wrecker

oh, yeah dunno if we got one they are $80 go and have a look

so i walked out, too expensive i thought

2nd wrecker

walking down the aisle some youngen goes, are you looking for a series two elec dizzy?, yes, oh i just took the last one

crap, crap, crap

then he goes, oh the 1st wrecker has a couple for $48, i say i just went there they were $80

he says, yeah thats what the first guy we asked said and then we went and looked and there was only one that wasnt very good so we went back and told another guy and he said he had two at $48 but one was rusty and the other ones vac advance wasnt working well

how frustrating is that

i thought bugger it ill go and learn how to make one then next week ill go to that wreckers that does $75 all you can carry and get one and a few other things, cause i reckon hell have one and itll work out cheaper

so yeah thats my whinge for the day

For my old L-series i brought a Series 2 Bluebird dizzy for $ 70 about five years ago, bit it was complete and ready to slap in the car though. Just to give you a ball park figure of what they are worth.

ahh, its not so easy

basically you need a lathe to trim down the lower body on the bluey one to make it into a shaft which will fit in the 1200 block and you need to swap the mounting bracket and swap the bit on the bottom for the 1200 cog

ended up the guy said hed do it for me for nothing but im not really 100% sure what he does

ill try to get pics of it before i put it in then someone can look at it and see if they can do it with their machining knowledge and tools, its beyond me and my tools

E15 top plate is what I used, just remove the original A15 top plate with the points and replace with the top plate from the E15!
