Car leaks water. Not from engine or anything.
But when it rains, the inside of the car gets wet. There is one leak out the back which I believe is the seal on the rear window.
There is another leak up front that comes out on the driver side only... Seems to be from kick panel...
Anyone know anything about what this might be?
Happen to anyone else?

:Edit: driver side = Right hand side

Probably what has happened is the rubber around the windscreen has shrunk. This so common on Datsuns, I'm surprised it hasn't come up before! Either replace the rubber, or squirt some black silicone into the gap and trim the excess so it doesn't look bad. Well, I guess a third option would be wear rubber shoes.

from wot (little ) i kno is that if the windscrren has ever been out, then there may hav been a lack of silicon when it was replaced, this happen to a lot of mk 1 and mk2 GOtina owners, who hav had 2 replace their windscreens, can be remedied also by re-doing the whole process, but the rubber MUST b free of all old sealant and dust, to ensure a decent seal is achieved, but it has been 5 yrs since i did my 120y, and DIMLIGHTS option is way f#$%^n easier!

could also be the common rust under the cowl problem

Cowl? is this the bit where air is taken in for the fans and such? if so, how do I get to it?

The stuff seems to be coming in from under the kick panel from what I can tell (It just rained here tonight)...
HAven't really been worrying about it cos it ahsn't really rained here for like 8 months...

nearly all my 1200's had the same problem but it was on the passenger side and it was the cowl rusting away we have just modified my two door by adding bigger drain holes in the side of the rail so all the crap will flow out.
grab a torch and a small screwdriver and have a pick at the seam sealer up under the dash if there is any rust you will soon find it.

i missunderstood what you were talking about when you said cowl

i just went and high pressure cleaned the car and found water running behind the kick panel from up where you were talking about

if you stick your head in the footwell and look up in the corner there is some silicone type stuff where the two metals meet, i had water dripping out here

not to mention the rear window seal, boot seal and both quarter windows on the front doors, oh and i think one of the back wing windows was leaking too

no wonder all the carpet is rotten! and the car stinks

Ummm did you fix this?

How would I fix this...

It's too dark now to go outside in the rain and get into some hard core yoga to see up there...

Adn my back is sore anyway...

And I may or may not be drunk...

neither confirm nor deny...
