Hi,
Is there any way to identify an A12GX block and cam by the casting numbers?
I've just pulled down my GX engine for a rebuild and noticed it has slightly dished pistons. I was under the impression they had flat tops. Do I have a standard bottom end?

The short block is more or less the same (so there probably are no special ID marks), but the cam and pistons should be different.

See the Tech Section article for details: Datsun A12GX Engine
