Steve just scored a breakthrough outright win in last weekend's Improved Production Championship round at Queensland Raceway!

To put this in perspective for those not really familiar with Improved Production racing, it is almost unheard of for anything other than a rotary to win outright honours.

Steve runs a CA18DET in his 1200 coupe and under the category's rules must use a 36mm inlet restrictor before the turbo. He qualified on pole, and went on to win all but one race over the weekend - and he finished 3rd in that one. He lead the Championship race from start to finish, despite battling failing synchros in the box.

I'll have to get some shots of him in action - and out in front of the rotaries! - at the next round!

Thats fantastic....sticking up the mazda boys.
That will keep them scratching their head. I follow closely the improved production here in NSW and it is the best racing in AUS...even over V8 Supercar. A Datsun 1600 with and SR20DET won that outright over the chook cookers as well!!! They spend mega bucks and we come in a blow them away with virually stock engines and bigger brakes!!!
