About 3 years ago a friend of a friend had a 1200 ute with a timber floor in the tray? (Black ute with 17inch chrome wheels here in Newcastle)

Anyone else done this? I was going to do it to mine and thought i'd check out what's been done? Problems, etc?

I don't mean getting rid of the dress sides. I'd never do that!

But yeah. I know of an old guy here in Newcastle with a cab-chassis 1200 ute even with a wooden floor in the tray.

If you just mean lining the deck with wood thats simple.

Sorry I dont have any pics but my dad did that to his old Navara. You can get screws that you put in with a drill that have these tags on them so they go through the ply then screw into the metal of the deck. Then he just got some hard wood, dont know what type it was but was about 2x1 to go on the top edges with routered edges.

Took about 2 hours all up and really kept the deck usable. It was one of the jap metal flat decks though so no worries about wheel wells to go around but that wouldnt be that much more difficult, just have to frame them up
