I'm shopping for some race seats for my ute, just wondering what you guys have successfully fitted in the ute cab.
Doesn't really matter whether their fixed back or recliners.
Which seats fit in really nice (given the massive cab area )
Thanks.

Ive been wondering about this too

How about production seats like the Racaros out of WRX's or EVO's. My guess is they would be to wide but itd be nice if they could be made to fit?

About the cheapest race seats Ive come across are the OBX Daytonas at about $225 each. They have a fixed back...which is Ok for a ute as you cant recline anyway. They have ADR...but you have to get engineers report if you want to fit aftermarket seats in a road registerable vehicle.

I've seen the seats you mentioned, they look pretty good. I've also noticed a few utes in magazines etc with Sparco's (Fixed Back) & Cobra's.
I think the main concern is their width. I also thought that by having recliners I may be able to get the seats further back in the cab by reclining them forwards to match the angle of cabin.
Any thoughts??????????

As for hte Engineer's report - the main thing to ensure is that the correct mounting procedure is followed, mainly the correct grade bolts, correct size with necessary washers - plates etc.
Not sure about other states but you also have to keep the factory seatbelts installed - even if harnesses are fitted.

How have you ute guys mounted your harnesses by the way? Any Pics?
