I'm having a little dificulty in finding shocks for my wagon and wondered if anyone has some part numbers of suitable alternative shocks for both front and rear. I can get original nissan shocks but the cost is a little prohibitive.

I have heard that the front shockers from an LJ torana will bolt straight on to the front of a 1000,never tried it myself but could be worth a look

I can't remember the rear ones but I know they are still available from Gabriel.
For the front I used LJ gas ones. They don't fit straight in.
What I did was press out the bottom pin from the torry shock . I made a copy of the datto pin in solid stainless as its usually hollow and bends when using gas shocks.
I used nolothane bushes which I had to modify to fit into the upper and lower ends. The upper eyelet required thinning to fit onto the existing spiggot. I pressed the bushes into place and glued them so they wouldn't come loose.
I can take pics of these if need be.

I will be changing the front to coil overs at a later stage but haven't done it yet. The rear is 1600IRS but also not totally completed yet......most of its in though.

The racecar is full tube chassis and runs torana LJ stubs on fabricated arms with coil overs. The rear is all custom using Jag coilovers......so the racecar suspension doesn't relate at all to a roadcar

yea I got a set of pedders for mine

I have the book 'build a sports car for 250 pounds' (lotus 7 replica) and it wouldnt be too hard to fabricate the multi link kind of suspension with coil over shocks they use.
