hey guys, i just recently bought a new set of pionts and a condensor for my 1200 ute. all i need to know is the ignition timing and the points gap. i was also wondering if you could still buy the vacuum advance new or will i have to get one second hand? if anyone can help i would appreciate it.

contact breaker gap - 0.18 - 0.22 inch

ignition timing - 5 - 7 deg.

The best people to ask about a new vacuum advance can would be your nearest friendly Datsun / Nissan dealer, as this part is likely to be "genuine" only. It's not the sort of thing that the aftermarket handled a lot.

Are these settings the same for an A15?

A15 Engine. Holley G180 (32/36 Weber). extractors and 2 inch exhaust.
Standard 1200 4 speed with lightened fly wheel and HD clutch
Stanza front struts and brakes.
15x6 CSA Wheels with 195/50 rubber.

Dwell is 49-52 degrees. New points can be set with the gap mentioned above. Used points should be set with a dwell meter. US models use 5 degrees timing. For any car, you can use the most timing that doesn't cause pinging (for an A12, usually 5-10).
