Has anyone ever fitted anything else other than a rotor motor or an A block?

Will a CA18 fit?

You can fit almost anything if your keen.
I've had a wagon with a 253 in it before.
I'm doing a CA conversion towards the middle of next year on one of my coupes.
I know someone here has already done the CA conversion but hasn't popped his head out to show me the pics and schematics he mentioned he has......which I'm still keen to get hold of.

Hmmm... I'm about to get started on my white coupe (which looks remarkably similar to yours, Dattoman, only no rust!!! )

I've never seen anyone do any other type of motor except A series or Rotary...

Do I dare to be different... VG30 perhaps?

Who said my coupe had rust ?
It just surface scale.....nothing serious.

I have an AOK from rego to do both the CA18ET in the white coupe and the VG30 into the orange coupe. So I will be doing both eventually.
The orange one has 1600IRS also and may or may not end up with a GTR 4WD system underneath it too. Depends on how keen I get when the time comes.
VH45 would be hard due to its physical size.....nice if you could pull it off.....though making it handle is hard enough as it is without bulk HP.
350Z motor would be nice too......but won't see them in the wreckers for along time.

Hmmm... All these conversions come out of the woodwork! How come I've never seen any of them done before? Probably because all of the Dat1000's I've seen in SA either belong to grandmas who won't sell, or are thrashed to hell!
I'll have to check with motor reg, but I'm certain a CA18DET is fine - I know it is for my 1200 ute...
Dunno about the VG, tho...

Dattoman - only kidding about the rust - looks neat, dude!

Hey, BTW, does anyone have a Grille they're willing to sell? mines a bit bent...

s13drifter, go to the nsw rta website and search for a pdf document about light vehicle modifications it outlines the formulas and everyting about what maximum size engines u can have in different weight cars. in any od the 1200 models the only rotar u can get engineered is a 10a the formula says the max disp. u can have is 2.1litres unturbocharged. because the formula works off the stock weigh of the sedan body version of a 1200.
