My A12 turbo is running. It currently has a brand new vanette clutch kit in it. It isn't up to the task and is spinning in 2nd gear at 6000rpm. The car isn't even running its max boost or fully tuned yet.

My question is does anybody out there have a heavy duty clutch kit there that they aren't going to use? Will you let it go really cheap or swap for my vanette kit? The budget is empty and I need to get a clutch so I can properly tune it.

Dude, I had the same problem with my turbo A12. Solution, a 180B HD pressure plate and a gemini clutch plate. The are 8" instead of the standard 7 1/4". Pedal is fine. The flywheel will need to be machined and re-dowelled and tapped. The clutch kit should be around $100 and the machining, well that was free for me but should be about $100 as well, don't forget to get it balanced. I have used this same clutch setup behind a tuff A15, infact it is still going strong. Last year when I sold the A15 to my cousin, he swung it sideways in second went for third, missed the gear, jammed it in and popped the clutch at about 7-8 grand. Wheels had stopped spinning by this time. She hooked up and sheared the flywheel bolts off. . . this was with a 2nd hand clutch. . .

Yikes. Sounds like an interesting setup. Waiting on a call from the local Race Clutch here in Brisbane. $$$ are very low atm.
