was talking to a stall holder at goulburn swap meet who had a couple of datsun bits turns out he has a sedan and a disc brake setup which i am buying soon aparently its of a nissan van (im pretty sure its called a nomad?) from 86 or 87 and bolts up almost perfectly other then you have to make up a sleeve for one little bit. so when i get it home ill try it out and take pictures of the few bit that were modded
[edit] they are also ventilated and have decent calipers from what he explaned

Sounds interesting, I often used to look at my C20 and at my 1000 but I always figured it was all too big for the 1K.

BTW the early Fairladys also have a transverse front end.

Watching closely, be sure to elaborate.

I think I have seen a couple of C20 wrecks here.

my stepdad had a c20 van and when i looked underneath it, it also had the transverse leaf, i started to do some measuring of the front end bits and most seamed to be about the right size to be bolt on, but sold car before ever bolting anything up, and his c20 had 13in wheels as standard. i still have some stub axles so may just get the bits and have a play anyway.

I can vaguley remember a conversion being done using the C20 / Vanette front uprights many moons ago. I think dimensionially the vertical height of the upright is not too far off. It is a little taller which is not all bad as you get some more negative camber gain in roll. The biggest difference was the holes for the ball joints - much bigger on the van item. Solution may be to fit van ball joints to 1000 control arms?

Im keen to see what comes of this... Im about to go through some major work to modify a Bluebird strut and turn it into an upright to fit the 1000 front end. My reason for doing so is I want a stronger hub assembly as im using the car for track work and the std 1000 front spindle doesnt look that strong to me...
