1200 Dash Switches

hey, can some 1 plz help as to how to remove the windwiper and light switches out of my 1200 sedan dash. its givin me the sh#!$, people have told me that there should be a button or latch on the back of the switch which should release it, which there is not, ive also tryed turning it 1/4 of a turn and pulling it, this also didnt work.
any help would be much appreciated.

thats right 1/4 turn it has a pin threw the shaft and a slot in the knob when you turn it they line up and just pull off

Don't forget to push the knob in, before you turn 1/4 turn anti-clockwise.

The button on the back is an american engineering thing (Ford, GM and Chrysler).
