You wont get much change from 10 grand by the time you finish the CA conversion.

the most power you can get out of an a15...that will costs lots and lots of money and you will be able to build a decent CA and get it in the car for that kinda money

better question might be whats the typical power you get from an A15 without going too overboard

andy, im expecting change from $1000 to finish the CA18de+t ....but thats starting with an L series in there already

Yes.

A15 pros :
- no fabrication
- you can use club registration if it's only used for club activity. Saving ~$1000/yr
- no wiring
- no cooling
- no big brakes

CA18det pros:
- smoother to drive
- more torque
- better fuel in city economy
- less maintenance
- you get a 5 speed
- big learning experience.

Basically a CA18 is a learning experience. An a15 is a quick fix that allows you to stay on the road with a 1 day install.

I learned a lot about engines, welding, cooling, suspension, wiring etc etc in my CA18 install. I've also taught a lot of other people as a result of the hard/stressful days of learning things the hard way.

with a decent a15 your probably going to have to do some kinda brake upgrade and will probably want to upgrade the cooling system aswell

but totally agree with the CA being a learning experience, after you do it you actually know how stuff works....which is quite handy if your modding cars

CA... there is nothing like having the performance of expensive sports cars in the shell of a datsun and you'll learn lots. i know thats a simple answer but you asked a simple question
