thats my engine guys. new set of plugs and its running nice. going to have it checked over tomorrow morning before i hand over the cash, its still in the guys sunny but as long as its not almost dead i will be taking it.

A15. its got the dellortos, extractors, a12 flywheel, i think a mild cam (lumpy idle but not rough or missing)

edit: whoops this wasnt meant to be a new thread. oh well.

got a compression test done, reading 175, 170, 170, 170.

just took the engine out of the car. had to take the manifolds off for convenience and found that the head has been nicely ported, the seller (a long time datsun enthusiast) said that the porting looks professional. i think hes kicking himself for selling it!

also found that the choke was stuck about 1/3 on, that would explain it running like dogcrap under 3000rpm.

with a 5 speed, dellortos, head work, really good compressions all for $900 i think i got a good deal

Yes you got a good deal! Whenever I close my eyes I still see those ports appearing after the manifold was off. If you ever want to sell let me know....

good deal shame to put in a Morris.
better give the engine back and put in a standard A12 even that will twist the chassis

Yes just before leaving Otautau. Tow vehicle was the A12 auto brown Sunny. Of course I was much younger then...
